The group is divided into two Strategic Business Areas: Broadband Cable Networks and Video Networks. Broadband Cable Networks serves cable operators and a major part of its business activities are handled through direct customer contact. Video Networks supplies solutions for optical signal transmission and video network management software solutions for video surveillance and a major part of its business is handled through system integrators. Both Business Units are among the leading providers in their market areas and are globally recognized for their know-how and ability to produce technically cutting edge solutions year after year.

Video is at the core of our business activities, with a focus on processing, transmitting and managing video and data for operators who provide video-related services to end-users. Using our core technologies, we also provide cost efficient and reliable services to improve the operational efficiency of our customers. Our service portfolio, together with our innovative technologies as well as an in-depth understanding of our customers’ individual situations and needs, forms the basis for our optimised end-to-end solutions. Services include design and network planning, field services, upgrade, implementation, maintenance and technical operations, integration, consultancy and training.

In 2008 the group's net sales totalled EUR 109 million and the group employed 677 persons at the year-end. As a company engaged in high technology, innovations and R&D are crucial to Teleste’s business. The company has a strong commitment in R&D. Its product development engages approximately 150 R&D engineers, which guarantees the world-class know-how. Being locally present is one of the most valued corner stones of Teleste’s business strategy. The company serves its customers in 30 countries via offices that offer not only sales but technical field support as well. Over 90% of Teleste's net sales are generated outside Finland.
