Teleste’s Code of Conduct
The purpose of this code of conduct (“Code of Conduct”) is to ensure that Teleste and its partners, suppliers, contractors as well as stakeholders (collectively “Supplier” or “Suppliers”) operate in accordance with internationally recognised minimum standards on human rights, labour and the environment. Teleste adheres to the principles of this code and expects the same of its Suppliers.
1.1. Compliance with laws and regulations
Teleste and its subsidiaries, offices and agencies will comply with any national laws in their respective countries, whether Teleste is stationed therein or doing business in that country.
1.2. Customers
Teleste is committed to maintaining its customers’ trust and respect. Teleste competes fairly and honestly in delivering products and services to its customers. Unlawful or unethical behaviour is not tolerated.
1.3. Human rights
Teleste respects and complies with the protection of the internationally recognised human rights such as stated in UN declaration and core ILO conventions and its Suppliers are expected to respect and comply with these rights as well and make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
1.4. Forced labour
Teleste does not engage in or support the use of forced or involuntary labour. Teleste will not accept that Suppliers are using forced or involuntary labour.
1.5. Child labour
Teleste does not engage or support the use of child labour and its Suppliers are expected to comply with local laws regarding the use of child labour and employ only workers who meet the minimum age requirement for their location. This is a criterion in the selection and management of the Suppliers.
1.6. Non discrimination
Teleste supports diversity and equal opportunity. All employees of Teleste must appreciate and understand diverse cultures and customs at the workplace. Unlawful discrimination in the workplace is not tolerated. All Suppliers are expected to comply with applicable laws and regulations as well as international conventions and declarations concerning discrimination in hiring and employment practices.
1.7. Freedom of association
Open communication and direct engagement between workers and management are the most effective ways to resolve workplace and compensation issues. Teleste respects the rights of workers to associate freely, join or not join labour unions, seek representation, join workers’ councils in accordance with local laws. Workers shall be able to communicate openly with management regarding working conditions without fear of reprisal, intimidation or harassment.
1.8. Health and safety
Teleste is committed to the safety and health of its employees and conducts its operations in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Suppliers are expected to provide a safe working environment that supports accident prevention and minimizes exposures to health risks. Suppliers are expected to comply with all applicable safety and health laws and regulations as well as international conventions and declarations in the countries in which they operate.
1.9. Anti-corruption
Teleste, its employees and Suppliers must be committed to the high standards of integrity, honesty, and fairness in all internal and external relationships.
Teleste does not authorize, condone, encourage or promote, directly or indirectly through others, unlawful or unethical behaviour, such as bribery or any other activities that may be construed as being corrupt, unlawful or unethical.
No Teleste employee shall directly or indirectly accept, solicit, or offer to pay bribes, kick-backs, or other prerequisites even under unlawful pressure.
1.10. Environment
Teleste respects the environment and is committed to operate in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Our Suppliers are also expected to conduct their operation in a way that protects the environment and comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations in the country in which they operate.
1.11. Collaborating with suppliers
Social responsibility issues are part of the Teleste’s Supplier selection and auditing processes. All Teleste Suppliers are expected to comply with national laws and regulations and comply with the materially similar code of conduct.
