Teleste expands ISDB-T support to the Luminato headend platform

Teleste introduces a quad ISDB-T module to the Luminato headend platform. The module, called LCM-I, enables ISDB-T for content distribution over cable networks, making it possible for operators to offer, for example, richer service bundle for their customers in the areas where the ISDB-T/ISDB-Tb standard has been adopted.

The transition to digital television is a strong ongoing process throughout Latin America, and Teleste aims to be part of the process by providing solutions that benefit our customers most in developing their services”, says Mika Kavanti, VP of Marketing and Sales at Teleste. “We are pleased to announce that through the ISDB-T support, our headend platform will be even better equipped to satisfy the needs of professional cable operators and hospitality service integrators throughout Latin America, where that ISDB-T standard is widely adopted.”

The LCM-I ISDB-T modulator in a nutshell:

  • High density with four ISDB-T/ ISDB-Tb outputs
  • Support for 120 MPTS/SPTS input streams over IP
  • Ability to receive MPEG-2, MPEG-4 AVC, and HEVC formats
  • Low power consumption; less than 4W per one output
  • PSI/SI table generation and advanced PID processing
  • Multiplexing of several MPTS streams and additional IP outputs

Part of the fully integrated Teleste Luminato headend platform

The module is part of the Teleste Luminato headend platform, designed for live content processing. It receives video content from multiple sources and processes the content into operators’ network for cable TV, over-the-top and/or IPTV delivery. Due to its modular structure, Luminato enables any combination of the available modules as well as the possibility of adjusting the service according to operator-specific needs.

The fully integrated Luminato platform is trusted by cable TV operators and Telco’s as well as hospitality service providers of varying sizes and feature demands. There are thousands of devices operational around the world, and more than 99.7% of the devices have operated without the need for any repair. With its outstanding reliability, Luminato is an excellent example of Teleste’s R&D and manufacturing, which are both located at our headquarters in Finland, Europe.

Teleste will highlight the module at the 2016 Andina Link exhibition, which takes place 1-3 March in Cartagena, Columbia.
