Effects of coronavirus and the Chinese national holiday extension to Teleste operations

Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus and its rapid spread, part of the containment measures of the Chinese government is taking is an extension of the public holiday in several regions until 10 February 2020.

This extension of the public holiday might have an impact on Teleste’s material supplies from China. Majority of Teleste’s manufacturing is located in Finland, which is continuing normally for the time being. However, at present it is difficult to draw detailed conclusions how the possible holiday extensions might affect us in the long term. We have been notified by some of our suppliers in China that their production starts will be delayed.  If the manufacturers are able to restore production quickly, the impact on our operations should remain small. However, if it takes longer to get back to the normal production speed, it is likely that some availability issues in our supply may occur.

Teleste is monitoring the situation closely together with our suppliers and authorities. Should there be any developments affecting our operations, such as a further extension of the mandatory holiday, we will inform you in a timely manner.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your usual Teleste representative.
